Why are we trotting? 
According to a 2006 study by the California Department of Education, Oceanside Unified students had much lower fitness scores than students in surrounding districts, with about 37% of 9th Graders meeting the aerobic capacity requirement and about 16% of those students meeting all six state fitness standards. In addition, only 19% of the district’s 5th graders and 25% of 7th graders met all of the fitness standards.
